Lady Raiders Chosen as Champions in Pre-Season Coaches Poll

The Lady Raiders of Shaker Heights were selected by the coaches of the Lake Erie League to be the Champions at the end of the season for Volleyball.  Though the season starts tomorrow for most schools, the Lake Erie League schedule will be one to watch out for.  Maple Heights was chosen as a 2nd Place finish, but Veteran Coach Rocco Covelli will have the Lady Mustangs ready to possibly capture the LEL Title at the end of the year for Maple Heights once again. • Our skill flexibility and mindsets will be the difference this season. My goal is to challenge the girls in those two areas and to keep them out of their comfort zones; to get them to expect more from themselves as individuals and their teammates. This has been something very unfamiliar to them, a mindsets shift, to build team chemistry.
      • To surprise some teams.

      • Overall chemistry and experience. We have some great upperclassman who have already gracefully accepted the challenge of leadership this season and we expect the depth of our roster to really work in our favor.
      • After dedicating our summer to pushing the tempo of our offense and committing to doing what it takes to bring back a winning culture to our program, our girls are hungry. Going into this season, we’re confident in every single person on our roster and excited to reach the goals we set out for ourselves.
